The roaring 20s were a time during which criminal empires rose based on illegal activities such as alcohol smuggling, extortion, and other types of violence.
Omerta-City of Gangsters is a strategy game that brings you back to those years.
The game lets you create your character by choosing its name, appearance, abilities, and so on, always in line with the characteristics of the gangster paraphernalia.
Am element I particularly liked is music, which remains the jazz era and helps bringing players back to the gangster's era.
has three different levels: Easy, Medium, and Hard. You can choose the one that best suits your abilities.
The only disadvantages I found were that it uses all the tropes related to gangsters (their Italian origin, for example), many of which can seem politically incorrect and can upset some users. Also, colors are in the ochre range, so they may appear rather dull for some people.
You can try the game before purchasing it. To do so, you will need Steam software to be installed in your system, as well as a Steam account. You can get them bot for free at Steam's website.
Pros
- Good story
- Graphics evoke old times
- Music is characteristic of that age
Cons
- Uses all the tropes of the gangster movies and novels
- Colors may seem too dull for some users
